This post contains a detailed guide to Cabo de Rama beach, Goa.
Cabo de Rama beach is located in the South Goa district of Goa. Even though it is located just 20 km from the popular Palolem beach, it hardly sees any visitors. This is a blessing because most of the beaches in Goa are jam packed with tourists. in such a case, its a breath of fresh air to come across a beach that has no one on it.

Cabo-de-Rama Cliff
Located in South Goa, Cabo de Rama beach lies hidden underneath a tall cliff. Shrouded by tall coconut trees and shrubs, the Cabo cliff offers glorious views of the pristine blue waters and the hills enveloped in greenery. From the cliff, a part of the clear white sand beach is visible too. The best part of this tropical haven is standing on this cliff and enjoying the natural beauty, untouched by man.
To reach Cabo de Rama beach, you have to go to far right end of the cliff. Here you'll see natural steps leading down to the beach.

Cabo de Rama Beach
With stone steps leading the way down from the cliff to the beach, the landscape changes quickly from open views of the sea and adjoining hills to a secluded beach, with waves of clear water splashing onto the beach. On the right-most ride of the beach, there is a section that has lots of coconut trees. As a result, there is plenty of shade that is provided. You can set up your base camp here. If you want to be on a beach yet be shielded from the harsh sunlight, this is your spot. For the rest of you who love the sun, sand and sea like me, the beach is waiting for you.
Things to do at Cabo de Rama Beach, Goa
Since Cabo de Rama beach is a secluded beach that is not on the tourist radar yet, you will not find any water sports activities going on here. The plus point to that is that the beach hardly has anyone on it and you can often have the whole beach to yourself. In any case, take a look at the things to do at Cabo de Rama beach Goa, below.
1. Picnic at the Beach
Picnicking on the beach with friends or family is a fun event. Carrying snacks, drinks and biryani for lunch, playing volleyball in the sand, dancing to your favorite songs and spending quality time with your near ones is what comes to my mind when I think of a picnic on a beach. If you're in Goa, looking for a beach that's not swarming with tourists, and where you and your friends or family can roam around and have ample space for your games and activities, then Cabo de Rama is the beach for you.

3. Watch the Sunset Views
One of the best aspects of visiting Cabo de Rama beach is the sunset view from the cliff. It's advisable to arrive an hour before sunset, find a clear patch to sit on the Cabo cliff, spread out a picnic blanket, drinks and snacks and then wait for the sun to go down. Don't forget to carry plenty of delicious snacks and cold drinks to make the best of your time there!
4. Swim in the Freshwater Lagoon at Cabo de Rama Beach
Another reason why I love the beaches of South Goa so much is not only due to the adventurous rides to get there but also because many of them have freshwater lagoons as well. There are many advantages to having a freshwater lagoon at the beach. Firstly, lets agree they look unique and interesting. Secondly, you can swim here without getting sand all over your body. Lastly, its great for kayaking due to the still waters.
So pack your swimsuits (or kayaks) and head over to Cabo de Rama beach now!

4. Visit Cabo de Rama Fort
The Cabo de Rama fort overlooks the Cabo de Rama beach and can be reached via foot. It's a bit of a trek but just like every other trek, the views from the top are always well-worth the climb. However, if you don't fancy climbing, you can also drive to the fort from the beach. The distance from Cabo de Rama beach to Cabo de Rama fort, by road, is a mere 1.4 km.
Restaurants at Cabo de Rama Beach
A few years ago there are only a limited number of restaurants around the Cabo de Rama beach area. However, in recent times, a beach shakc has come up at the Cabo de Rama beach itself.
If you wish to dine at the cliff, there is one beautiful resort right on the cliff called The Cape. From what I hear, there are a few new restaurants also on the cliff which opened recently. The views from all these restaurants are nothing short of spectacular.
